Well you probably wondering why are I writing a blog , well I am not sure myself but I thought I should. 2009 yah neh!!!!! Well a beautiful year has reached the end more but this time it was your last time wearing a uniform, being in a school classroom. Well I think you should be very excited about the year ending like that. You wrote you last exam in High school (CONGRATS!!!). I know how I felt when I wrote my last paper.
2010, means a new season for your life , Generally throughout the last 12-13 years you have been trained , and next year becomes another chapter of your life, all new board game is introduced in many way than you ever imagined ! So you have been placed in my heart for a specific reason, and I believe God sent me to give you something , I maybe delivering the right message to the wrong person , I do not now , but God sent me .
Generally the new season that you are about to step in has many different challenges, in which I have faced and I am still yet to face others in the nearby future. 2009 for me has been one of the best years, because I faced challenges and God was with me, and plus I started a new season.
I want to encourage YOU on a few things. Here goes:
1) I believe you have established a goal, which is why you are going to University, if not there will be a problem, besides it not too late. When I applied I knew what I wanted, and I told myself I won’t compromise. Basically my Primary Goal was Q.S (Quantity Surveying) , I bet you have yours. KEEP THAT IN MIND! , when you lose your goal you lose a lot of things, you lose sight of your vision that you have for yourself. You lose the importance of being at a university. I promise you, if you do not loose you goal, life will be better and a bit easier to live. Next year you will see a lot of people losing their goal, you will see them quit, bunk class, and you will see them failing as well (I am not scaring you) but it reality! DO NOT LOSE YOUR GOAL.
2) Do not forget where you come from. Throughout this year, one of the things that kept me going was my family and where I come from, the sacrifices my parents made for me to even walk in the gates of NMMU, let alone study. I remembered the hour I spent studying for my Trail and final exams, I remember how much my parents invested in me to get a Great Education to reach University. On a weekly basis I kept on connected with my family, I remember the words my parents said to me when I got here , and the last thing in my heart is to come to university and let my parents down. It’s not only about your parents it about you as an individual. I think of the people who would kill to get an opportunity to come to university. Last year close to 500,000.00 students wrote an exams but less than 100,000.00 saw the gate of university (of those than passed) some because they didn’t want to come but some because they do not have the finances or their parents didn’t allow them , then I considered myself luck , so do you ! Do not forget where you come from

3) Do what you came here to do. It’s a great shame to see people go to university and walk out without a degree or diploma. I am not sure how to put this but do what you where sent to do. Yes no one is going to force you not to go to class (that’s great) but it will come back to you (one way or another, I AM NOT SCARYING YOU). I remember the word my mom said to me which were: “Usiphile, until you pay your own fees, then Mntanam you can afford to miss classes.” These are the word I hear when I contemplate whether to go to class or not. I could not afford not to go to class for no Good reason. I went when I didn’t want to because I knew if I didn’t I am not doing what I was sent to do.
Well you have been reading for a while, but I am almost done,
4) Friends, well I will not dwell much on this, but it is said that “the friends you make in varsity are the friends you will have for life”. I do not know much about this. but I found new friends , great friends and bad friends , luck for me , God Blessed me with the wisdom to tell which is a good friend and who is not . In me making new friends I also kept the old ones, because they have a very special place in my life because they have shaped me as an individual and also impacted my life. Go be a friend, and let some to be your friend, we all need friends. Impact someone’s life like you have with mine. God will place people in your life for a reason, some to groom you, by hurting you and some to bless you. It’s very important that you guard your heart. You are also placed in peoples in live do not deprive people the love you have to offer, and do not rob them of the impact you could have their live and do not rob yourself from being impacted!
5) Well thought I should save this peace for the last. GOD!!!!! Well I know that you know and love Him, throughout this year my relationship with him has grown from strength to strength. I have been tried and tested; because I knew there is a God I tried to remain faithful. Next year is sure to Trust him, when things do not seem possible that is when you have to trust him. For me I found brother and sister who a passionate about God, they helped by praying with me and provided for me. I encourage seeking God in difficult times and even the Great times. I do not now much of the challenges that you will be facing but I know one thing for sure, God WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! That I promise you.
I trust that I made some sense in this blog, if I was off key, I am very sorry. If I did, praise God. I know now why I couldn’t say this, because I wouldn’t be doing you any justice if I just said it.
In conclusion I pray that God will protect you. And I am always a phone call away! If you need to talk, you welcome to call, sms, and emails or even face book me.
